Cardeiro Shines on Senior Day by Scoring OT Goal
Men's soccer team clinches first round bye in Conference tournament.

Framingham State senior Cory Cardeiro scored two goals and propelled the Rams to a 2-1 overtime victory over MCLA on senior day at Maple Street Field Saturday in Framingham.
With the win the Rams (6-12, 4-3 in the Conference) clinch the second seed in the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament and receive a first round bye.

Prior to the contest the Rams honored three seniors playing in their final season: Cardeiro, Brandon Downey & Tyler Jack.
The Trailblazers opened the scoring in the 20th minute when Edward Boateng sent a long lead pass to Anthony Basile who buried a shot into the corner of the net to take an early advantage.

The Rams answered back in the just over eight minutes later when Cardeiro headed in a long lead pass from junior Kelvin Okyere.
Neither team would be able to score again during regulation even though both sides had ample opportunities.
The Rams were able to end the contest in the 97th minute when a Trailblazers foul set up a free kick from about 22 yards out.
Junior Jeffrey Braverman, a Framingham High product, sent a long bending strike towards the far post that was headed across the frame by Cardeiro for the game-winner.
Junior Josh Arno, a Natick High product, made 8 saves in net for the Rams while his counterpart Kamron Anderson made 9 saves for the Trailblazers.
The Rams outshot the visitors 29-15 holding the Trailblazers to just 3 shots in the first frame.
Framingham State will host the Conference semi-final on Friday, Nov. 6 at 6 p.m.
