Danielle Betancourt Named New Brophy Elementary Vice Principal

Betancourt was announced to parents last Friday. Framingham Public Schools issued a press release Wednesday afternoon.

Danielle Betancourt has been appointed the new vice principal at Brophy Elementary School In Framingham.

“I am impressed by Ms. Betancourt’s passion and commitment for a Growth Mindset for all students,” said Framingham Superintendent of Schools Stacy Scott, in a press release issued today, June 17.

Parents were told of the appointment last Friday, June 12.

Betancourt has a “meet and greet” with staff after school today. She will meet with parents tonight from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

She will officially be joining the Brophy community at the start of the 2015-2016 school year, said the release.

Betancourt holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Fordham University in Russian Studies, a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from Boston College, and a Master’s of Education in Organizational Management from Endicott College.

She most recently completed an 18-month principal internship at the Horace Mann Elementary School in Newton, Massachusetts where she has been a teacher in a full-inclusion classroom since 2011.

Prior to that she served as an elementary teacher in the Boston Public Schools for four years.

Additional experiences include co-chairing the PTA at a primary school in the United Kingdom, serving as co-President of the Wharton Kids Club in Philadelphia, and teaching at the Samantha School for English in Russia.

“I am excited to begin working with Danielle as her experiences and strengths align nicely with the needs of our school,” said Brophy Principal Frank Rothwell, in the press release. “She has already begun efforts to connect with Brophy students, community, and staff members as she is eager to learn all she can quickly and to hear from stakeholders so her entry and transition are smooth and seamless.”
