Framingham State University will host a book talk The Assault on Communities of Color - Race-based Violence in the Era of the New Jim Crow on Wednesday, Sept. 30, at 4:30 p.m., in the Alumni Room.

In this book talk, critical race theorists Nicholas Hartlep and Kenneth Fasching-Varner discuss their recent book The Assault on Communities of Color: Exploring the Realities of Race-Based Violence.

This collection of essays provides a critical look at issues such as racism, community segregation, whiteness, and other hegemonies and how they reproduce injustice and violence. It also explores how space, place, and institutionalism produce and maintain white dominance and violence.
