“These parties were in a dating relationship,” said Ryan, in a press release. “While we have limited information at this time about the history of the relationship, we consider this to be a case of domestic violence. Our thoughts are with families of the deceased. This case demonstrates how abuse in an intimate partner relationship can escalate. We encourage anyone experiencing domestic violence to reach out to a local domestic violence program which can offer counseling, support, and advocacy services.”
