EDITOR'S PICKS: 5 Things To Do Today in Framingham April 18
Library hosting Lancers, book sale and 3rd Annual Youth Poetry Slam today, as it celebrates National Library Week.

Below are my editor’s picks for things to do today, Saturday, April 18
- Meet the Midnight Ride Horses: Greet the National Lancers, a ceremonial cavalry troop in the Massachusetts Organized Militia based in Framingham at the main Framingham Library on Saturday. Prior to their Patriots’ Day re-enactment of Paul Revere’s and William Dawes’s rides to alert the Minuteman, the Lancers are riding to Framingham Public Library to meet and greet the public. Come meet the horses while their riders answer any questions you may have about the Lancers, their history, how to join, and what else they do during the year. vent is from 3 to 4 p.m.
- Book Sale: The Friends of the Framingham Library will hold its monthly book sale today from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the main library at 49 Lexington Street. Members of the Friends may shop earlier.
- Listen to Folk Music: Louise Goffin, is a modern-day renaissance woman, who just happens to be Carole King’s daughter. And tonight at Amazing Things Art Center you can hear her perform in Framingham. Show starts at 8. Tickets are $24, $23 for seniors and students, $21 for Amazing members and $12 for children age 12 and under. Goffin has released seven solo albums of her own, on major labels. Her seventh studio recording, Appleonfire (2015), got its genesis following the June 19, 2014 passing of her father, lyricist Gerry Goffin.
- 3rd Annual Youth Poetry Slam: Jonathan Mendoza, an Emerson College student and Framingham High School graduate, will host this event at the main Framingham Library for teens ages 19 and younger.
- Dennison History: Stop by the Framingham History Center and learn about how Dennison Manufacturing helped shape Framingham and even America. The exhibit at Edhell Memorial Library is fre for members and $5 for non-members. The exhibit is open today from 1 to 4 p.m.
