EDITOR'S PICKS: 5 Things To Do Today in Framingham March 1

Purim carnival at Temple Beth Am, Boston Symphony orchestra performance at Nevins Hall, and final day for 3 art exhibits

Below are my editor’s picks for things to do today, Sunday, March 1

  1. Carnival: Temple Beth Am is holding a Purim Carnival today from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Everyone is encouraged to attend in costume.
  2. Symphony Performance: The Boston Symphony Orchestra will perform a free concert on Sunday, March 1 in the Memorial Building’s Nevins Hall. Tickets are free but need to be reserved at visit www.bso.org. The program is Stravinsky’s L’Histoire du soldat. A coffee and dessert reception will follow for the audience and musicians.
  3. Pop into Facial Expressions​: ​Today exhibits “Facial Expressions” and “Once Upon a Pop-Up: From the Ellie G. Levine Movable Book Collection”will close at Danforth Art. The museum is open today from noon to 5 p.m.
  4. Final Day of Far and Near: ​Today is the final day to see Lisa Barthelson and Kay Hartung art in the exhibit Far and Near at Fountain Street Fine Art gallery. Barthelson embraces the far-flung, desert landscape through monoprints and mixed media works.” Hartung’s “encaustic paintings explore the imagery of the microscopic world while also expanding to the cosmos.” The gallery is open today 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is free to visit. ​
  5. Read to Dogs:​​ Framingham Public Library will hold its popular Book Buddies Reading to Dogs program today from 2 to 3 p.m. It is free but pre-registration is required.​
