EDITOR'S PICKS: 5 Things To Do Today in Framingham on May 2
Fashion show and tea for library, middle schools in state's drama festival, and Gateway mural launch in downtown Framingham.
Below are my picks for things to do today in Framingham on May 2:
1. Break a leg to all three Framingham public middle schools, who will compete in the state’s drama festival this morning.
- Cameron Middle will stage Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon at Horace Mann Middle School in Franklin at 10 a.m.
- Fuller Middle School will perform Us and Them in Westford at Blanchard Middle School at 1 p.m.
- Walsh Middle School is staging Esperanza Rising at Bromfield Middle School at 11 a.m.
The public is invited to attend any of the performances There is an an admission fee by METG (Massachusetts Educational Theatre Guild).

2. Between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. today, the Framingham Downtown Renaissance launches its Gateway Mural Project in front of the wall at 16 Concord Street in the infamous MBTA Banana Lot. Bring your lawn chairs, your pets and your creative edge for an awesome, artful day soaking in local food and music. Meet mural artist, Sorin Bica of Fountain Street Studios.
3. The Homework Center of the Framingham Library will host a fundraising fashion show today at 2 p.m. at the main Framingham library featuring well-known Framingham models - school and library leaders.

Tickets are $25 and include lunch and dessert and are still available. The fundraiser will support the construction of the new McAuliffe Library branch. Tickets can be purchase at the main Framingham Library.
4. Plymouth Church in Framingham will hold its annual perennial plant sale, rummage sale, and bake sale today from 9 a.m. to noon. The sales are co-sponsored by The Plymouth Church Outreach Council and Women’s Fellowship. Click here for more details.
5. Tonight is the Junior Cotillion for Framingham High student at the Sheraton in Framingham. FHS Genesis will be sharing photos with Framingham Patch but we would love to see your photos too.
Last night was the prom for Marian High at Gillette Stadium. We’d love to see your photos from that special night too!
