Spelling bee performance, dads and donuts event at library, and Framingham Flyers in PeeWee state hockey championship at Loring Arena.

Below are my editor’s picks for things to do today, Saturday, March 7
- Dads & Donuts: Kay Byram will be the guest speaker at this morning’s Dads & Donuts at the main Framingham Library at 10 a.m. The event is free.
- Spelling Bee Performance: The Performing Arts Center of MetroWest will perform The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee tonight at 7:30. Featuring a cast of students in grades 7-12 from the MetroWest area, the PG-13 musical features a quirky yet charming cast of outsiders for whom a spelling bee is the one place where they can stand out and fit in at the same time. Advanced tickets are $16 Adults, $14 for seniors and youths. Tickets are $2 more at the door.
- PeeWee Hockey Tournament: Framingham Youth Hockey and Loring Arena is hosting the state’s PeeWee hockey championships this weekend. Framingham defeated the junior Crusaders 6-2 on March 5. Framingham skates today at 8 a.m. and again at 4 p.m. The public is invited to cheer on the junior Flyers.
- Free Cheesy Event: in 2013, Whole Foods Markets broke the Guinness World Record for simultaneously cracking 426 Parmigiano wheels across America and Canada. Today, Whole Foods - including Framingham - holds its annual Parmigiano Cheese event. At 3 p.m. see employees at the Framingham store crack a wheel of Parmigiano Reggiano.
- Robotics Competition: : Framingham High, Cameron Middle and Walsh Middle school all have teams competing in the Southern New England Regional Championships. The middle school teams compete today only in Worcester. Framingham High competes today and tomorrow. Click here for more details. The public is invited to attend and cheer on the teams.
