Elderly Woman Dies After Being Struck Crossing Framingham Street

A 70-year-old woman was killed crossing a busy Framingham street on Thursday night.

FRAMINGHAM, MA—A woman was struck and killed while crossing Route 9 in Framingham on Thursday night.

The 70-year-old was struck by a car around 7:18 p.m. at the intersection of Worcester Road (Route 9) and Prospect Street and taken by ambulance to MetroWest Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead. The Boston Globe reports that the woman had just left the Starbucks nearby.

The driver stopped and remained on the scene, and has not been arrested.

The crash is still under investigation, and the name of the deceased will not be released until next of kin is notified.
