Flyer Jake O'Brien Wins State Title in Double OT

Framingham High School's wrestling team finished in third place in the MIAA Division 1 tournament, over the weekend.

Framingham High wrestler Jake O’Brien earned a state title after defeating Bridgewater-Raynham’s William Fuller in double overtime at the MIAA Division 1 Tournament at Methuen High on Saturday.

O’Brien was crowned the state champion for Division 1 in the 195 pound weight category.

The Flyers finished in third place overall, behind Springfield Central with 168 points and Chelmsford with 113 points. The Flyers scored 97.5 points.

In all three Flyers, made the finals.

In the 152 pound finals, Chelmsford’s Davey Goodall defeated Jake Stetson of Framingham in double overtime.

Flyer Marlen Lamas lost to an Agawam wrestler in the 145 pound finals.

Framingham High wrestler Brandon Williams finished in third place in his weight category.
