Flyers Tie Brookline And Lose To State Power Newton North
The Framingham High boys track team would have won against Brookline, but was disqualified in the 4X100 relay.

The Flyers had their first ever tri-meet Wednesday, to my knowledge, to mixed results, said Framingham High boys track head coach Chris Collins.
The Flyers tied Brookline High 68-68.
The Flyers lost to Massachusetts track powerhouse Newton North 34-102.

The Flyers were disqualified in the 4x100 relay, which they easily won, said Collins. That DQ cost the team the victory against Brookline.
Junior Ben Kirchman ran the hurdles in 16 seconds to qualify for the state meet, said Collins. He finished second in the race to a Newton North hurdler.

Junior captain Mike McDonald beat the field while running a ‘very comfortable’ 4:37 mile, said Collins. McDonald also qualified for the state meet with his time.
Sophomore Brendan Retalic ran 52.7 in the 400 race to finish second for the Flyers.
