Team depth was the key to the Flyers victory Sunday afternoon at the pool on the campus of Wellesley College.
The Flyers placed multiple swimmers, in event after event, to rack up points to their victory.
At one point in the meet, Framingham was more than 100 points ahead of its closest competitor.
A huge accomplishment for a team that some thought struggled this season, despite an 11-3-1 regular season record.
βWe kept getting better and better with each meet,β said Foley, who said at the beginning of the season it didnβt look like this team would make it to its 12th title.
βAlthough you swim individually, I treat this like a team sport,β said Foley. βThey pulled it together to accomplish their goal today.β
Only one Framingham swimmer won an individual Conference title.
Sophomore Kara McCurdy won both the 200-yard and 500-yard freestyle events.
Sophomore diver Halia Bower finished second in her event. The Flyers finished second, sixth, tenth, and 11th in diving to start the Bay State Conference championship meet off on Sunday, Nov. 8. Another example of the teamβs depth.
