Former Congressional Candidate Indicted For Assault on a Child

A former congressional candidate was indicted by a grand jury this week for three counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on a child.

The Middlesex District Attorney’s office said indicted were handed down to Thomas Tierney, 71 of Framingham and his wife Joanne, 72, of Framingham.

Both were charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on a child (3 counts) and endangerment of a child.

The child is related to the couple.

The Assistant District Attorney for the case is Kate Cimini.

Tom Tierney was a Republican candidate for the 5th Congressional district in 2012.
