Former Framingham Soccer Treasurer Indicted on Embezzlement, Larceny Charges

The Framingham resident was indicted by a Middlesex County grand jury on 4 counts of embezzlement and 5 counts of larceny.

A Middlesex County grand jury has indicted the former Framingham United Soccer Club (FUSC) treasurer on embezzlement and larceny charges.

Scott Vermilya, 42, of Framingham was indicted on charges of fiduciary embezzlement (4 counts), larceny (5 counts), and false entry in corporate books and records.

Vermilya is accused of embezzling money from Destiny Management in Cambridge and from the Framingham United Soccer Club.

The total amount allegedly embezzled from those entities is more than $200,000.

An arraignment for Vermilya has been scheduled for Thursday, July 2, in Woburn Superior Court.

Framingham United Soccer Club, established as a Massachusetts non-profit corporation in May 1975.

Last year, more than 1,200 children were registered with the Club.
