Former FUSC Treasurer Arraigned on Embezzlement Charges

Scott Vermilya, 42, of Framingham was arraigned today, July 2, in Woburn Superior Court.

Former Framingham United Soccer Club treasurer Scott Vermilya, 42, of Framingham was arraigned on charges of fiduciary embezzlement (4 counts), larceny (5 counts), and false entry in corporate books and records today, July 2 in Woburn.

Vermilya is accused of embezzling money from Destiny Management in Cambridge and from the Framingham United Soccer Club. The total amount allegedly embezzled from those entities is more than $200,000.

Vermilya entered pleas of not guilty today.

He was released on personal recognizance by Magistrate Matt Day.

He is next scheduled to appear in court on July 22.

Framingham United Soccer Club, established as a Massachusetts non-profit corporation in May 1975, is celebrating its 40th year. Last year, more than 1,200 children were registered with the Club.
