Framingham Boxer Competing at 15th Annual Ringside World Championships

Christopher Davis-Fogg began boxing in middle school with the Framingham Police Athletic League (PAL) boxing program.
A decade later he is looking for a world title.
David-Fogg is competing this week at the 15th annual Ringside World Championship Tournament, one of the largest amateur boxing tournament in the world.

He is schedule to box at 6 p.m. Friday, August 7, against Oluwatimilehin Akeredolu of Buffalo, N.Y. in the men’s senior open division for boxers ages 19-40
The 165-pound Davis-Fogg said he has been “working hard” and “dedicating his time to nationals.”

Davis-Fogg, 25, works during the day at Whitney Place on Route 9 in Natick, and at night trains as a fighter.
He competed last year at nationals, but only made it to the quarterfinals.
His interest in boxing began with the Framingham PAL program at the Danforth Gym.
But when he attended Keefe Technical High School he stopped boxing and focused on football.
He graduated from Keefe Technical in 2008, and started training in the ring again a year later.
Davis-Fogg trained with Pablo Ramos.
“It was a great experience,” said Davis-Fogg. “He taught me everything I knew.”
Now, he trains with A.J. Thomas at Bancroft Boxing in Framingham.
He’s had about 30 amateur bouts and considered going pro,” but decided to train for this week’s tournament instead.
Davis-Fogg said he a “steady, calm fighter” in the ring with a powerful left hand.
He has been training about 30 hours a week, as early as 4:30 a.m. every day and back in the gym for more training after working with the seniors at Whitney Place.
”I don’t expect this week’s fights to be easy,” said Davis-Fogg, who has won the Marciano Tournament and the new England Golden Globes.
