Framingham Boxer Teo Wins Gold
Next up for Framingham High student and Framingham PAL boxer Miguel Teo is the 2016 U.S. Olympic trials.
Framingham Police Athletic League (PAL) boxer Miguel Teo defeated Rich Vansiclen of Washington, 2-1, to win the Pathway to Glory Olympic Trials Qualifier Gold Medal, over the weekend.
The victory in the ring earned the Framingham High boxer a spot at the 2016 U.S. Olympic trials.
The loser also earned a spot, as the USA Boxing opted to invite the top two finishers in each weight level to the Olympic Trials. The 2016 Summer Olympics will be held in Brazil.

Teo, 18, earned four victories in the ring last week at 178 pounds.
On Friday, June 26, Teo defeated Martez McGregor of Illinois 2-1 in the semifinal round.

In the quarterfinals on Thursday, Teo defeated Bobby Calderon of Colorado 3-0.
On Wednesday, Teo defeated Carlos Monroe of Georgia 2-1.
He trains with the Framingham PAL, under coach Carlos Cancel.
Last year, Teo won the National PAL (Police Athletic League) Championships in California at the 178 pound or light heavyweight category.
