Framingham Cycle Company Keeps Abolitionist Movement Alive

Downtown Framingham puts the spotlight on a local company doing great things.

FRAMINGHAM, MA—On July 4, 1854, the Anti-Slavery Society met in a small grove in Framingham to protest the hypocrisy of celebrating the country's independence while still practicing slavery.

This week, Downtown Framingham, Inc. put the spotlight on The 1854 Cycling Company, which "keeps this ideal alive with their line of abolitionist bicycles, apparel and bags. The proceeds from these products goes to organizations that help end cycles of poverty among formerly incarcerated people. Check them out today and join the abolitionist movement."

The 1854 Cycling Company is a high-end bicycle and leather goods business.
