Framingham Democrats To Elect Delegates to State Convention

The caucus for the 2015 state convention in Framingham is scheduled for Sunday, May 17.

The following is a press release from the Framingham Democratic Town Committee:

Democrats in Framingham will be holding a caucus on Sunday, May 17 at the Framingham Green, 136 Maynard Road, Framingham,to elect delegates to the 2015 Massachusetts Democratic Convention.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. for registration, and elections of delegates to the state convention will begin at 7 p.m.

Candidates and those voting for them must have been registered as Democrats before January 31, 2015.

This year, the Massachusetts Democratic Convention will be held Saturday, September 19, at the Mass. Mutual Center in Springfield.

Framingham will elect 34 delegates and 6 alternates.

This year’s convention will be an “Action Agenda Convention” and will feature Forums, organizing workshops, exciting speakers and more.

The caucus is open to all registered Democrats in Framingham, and the Democratic Committee welcomes participants.

Delegates will be divided equally between men and women, and all ballots will be written and secret.

Youth, minorities, and people with disabilities who are not elected as delegates or alternates may apply to be “add-on” delegates.
