Framingham DPW Worker Cited in Crash

Framingham Police said the DPW worker driving the Sander truck went through a red light on Saturday night.

Framingham Police said a Framingham Public Works employee was cited for going through a red light, in a crash that ended with the DPW sander truck sliding into a house on Bishop Street Saturday night.

Around 10 p.m. Saturday, the DPW sander truck and an SUV crashed on Bishop Street, causing the sander truck to then crash into a house.

Framingham DPW employee Fernando Oliveira was cited for a violation on Monday.

Oliveira was hospitalized after the crash on Saturday, but later released. The driver and a passenger in the SUV were also taken to the hospital by ambulance.

Police and the Town of Framingham are still investigating the crash.

The 205 Bishop Street home has substantial damage to the first and second floors, including structural and foundation issues.

Two people were in the home when the crash happened on Friday night, according to neighbors. Neither were injured.

The home is owned by Robert Anderson Brown and Anne Marie Fowler, according to the Framingham assessor’s database.
