Framingham High School Closes College and Career Center

The Framingham High School College and Career Center is currently closed.
Christine Luzi, who oversaw the Center, resigned to take a position with MassBay Community College. Her last day was Friday, Nov. 20.
“Ms. Luzi’s departure is a huge loss for the Framingham High School community, but we wish her the best in her future endeavors,” said Framingham High Principal Elyse Torbert.

The public school district is currently looking for a long-term substitute to replace Luzi.
The position has been posted and we will begin interviewing this week, said Torbert.

The goal is to re-open the Center when someone has been hired.
“As part of the long term vision for the district to develop individualized pathways for student learning, the current College and Career Counseling position at the high school will likely be absorbed into a greater K-12 Cradle to Career Counselor position, said Torbert.
Torbert said Framingham Superintendent of Schools Stacy Scott and the district’s Chief Academic Officer Sonia Diaz is creating the new position to provide new opportunities to create and support a “college and career-ready systemic culture in Framingham.”
