HEMPFIELD, PA — A Framingham man will appear in court later this month after impersonating a Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania police officer on Friday morning.

A police report from the Pennsylvania State Police shows that Thomas Rooney, of Framingham, arrived on the doorstep of a Hempfield, Pennsylvania, home on Friday morning before 10 a.m. impersonating a police officer.

The report said Rooney used a fake name to try and enter the residence. The homeowners called local authorities, who arrived shortly after to determine that Rooney indeed wasn't a cop.
