Framingham Man To Head Division of Administrative Law Appeals
MA Secretary of Administration and Finance named the Framingham lawyer the new Chief Administrative Magistrate for the division.

Massachusetts Secretary of Administration and Finance Kristen Lepore named Ed McGrath as the new Chief Administrative Magistrate for the Division of Administrative Law Appeals
McGrath is a Framingham lawyer.
“Throughout his career working on behalf of individuals, municipalities, and small businesses, Ed has demonstrated an ability to reach fair decisions for his clients, often times before matters made it to court,” said Secretary Lepore, in a press release. “That type of creative problem solving will be an asset to the Commonwealth and ensure that DALA remains a fair and efficient body for resolving disputes between constituents and executive agencies.”

The Division of Administrative Law Appeals is an independent agency that conducts due process adjudicatory hearings for other Massachusetts state administrative agencies.

Through its Bureau of Special Education Appeals, Division of Administrative Law Appeals also conducts mediations, advisory opinions and hearings to resolve disputes among parents, school districts, private schools and state agencies concerning eligibility, evaluation, placement, individualized education programs (IEPs), special education services and procedural protections for students with disabilities.
McGrath is the principal at the Law Office of Edward B. McGrath, LLC., where he represents a diverse group of clients and concentrates his practice on the preparation and trial of cases in courts across Massachusetts.
