Framingham Musical Wins Award For Best in State
The Massachusetts Educational Theater awards were held in Boston Monday night, and both Walsh and Fuller middle schools won awards.
Five middle school musicals in the Commonwealth were nominated for best production as part of the Massachusetts Educational Theater (MET) awards.
“Fuller and Walsh are nominated for best musical for Shrek and Once on This Island! There are only five schools nominated for best musical in the state and we are two of them!,” said Donna Wresinski, the school district’s K-12 arts department head, last month to Framingham Patch.
And last night, Walsh Middle School won the award for best in state at the MET Awards at the Cutler Majestic Theatre in Boston.

Walsh Middle School staged three shows of Shrek in December 2014.
Overall, Framingham’s three middle schools were nominated for 24 MET awards.

Framingham took home a total of eight awards last night.
Fuller Middle School won for Best Lighting Design and Execution, Best Sound Design and Execution, and Best Dance Ensemble. Fuller Middle School staged two shows of Once on This Island in January.
Walsh won for Best Set Design and Execution and for Best Stage Management (Nick Amico)
Walsh also won two acting awards.
Amanda Fawell won for Best Featured Actress as Gingy
Jessica Landes, Michelle Moran, and Caitlyn Doucette won Best Specialty Ensemble for their roles of Fiona in Shrek.
