UPDATED: Framingham Firefighters Battle Car Fire Inside Garage
Two individuals were inside the home when firefighters arrived, one of whom called 9-1-1

Framingham firefighters responded to a report of a car fire, inside a garage on Winthrop Street, Wednesday morning.

Framingham Deputy Fire Chief Stephen Stone said there was a couple inside the house when firefighters arrived. The woman needed to be removed and put into an ambulance.
The man had tried to start his vehicle and heard a loud noise , and immediately got out of the vehicle, and called 9-1-1, said Deputy Chief Stone.

An earlier published Patch article reported, according to the scanner, one person was inside the vehicle and needed to be rescued.
The Framingham Fire Department first received the 9-1-1 call about a car fire at 223 Winthrop Street, just before 7:30 a.m. on November 4.
When we arrived on the scene, we found the car inside an attached garage to the house, said Deputy Chief Stone.
We removed an elderly woman, who is bed-ridden, from the home, and extinguished the fire, said Deputy Chief Stone.
Then, we removed a lot of smoke from the home.
Deputy Chief Stone said the home is livable.
