Framingham School Committee, Teachers Union Reach Tentative Contract

The following is a press release issued by the Framingham School Committee. It is published as is.
The joint Interest Based Bargaining Committee (“I.B.B. Committee”), comprised of administration, the Framingham School Committee and the Framingham Teachers’ Association (Unit A), have reached a tentative agreement by consensus on all outstanding issues for a new contract commencing on September 1, 2015 and ending on August 31, 2018.
The I.B.B. Committee has agreed to continue collaborative conversations on issues beyond the scope of this contract on a regular basis.
The final agreement will need to be ratified by both the School Committee and the F.T.A. membership.

The I.B.B. Committee has described the process as “collegial, communicative and thought-provoking.” All participants believe that this new format for contract negotiations has improved relations between all parties.
All stakeholders look forward to continuing the use of this collaborative bargaining method to move the Framingham School District forward in order to improve student outcomes
