The Committee voted 6-0 (School Committee member Michelle Brosnahan was not at the meeting) to have the sixth and seventh snow days as Thursday, June 25 and Friday, June 26.

The Committee also voted that if additional snow days are needed, they would be snow day #8 on Monday, June 29 and snow day #9 on Tuesday, June 30.

Framingham Chief Educational Officer Sonia Diaz said based on the survey results from parents and staff the Committee had ”lots of information” on what to do with snow days.

School Committee member Andy Limeri said before the vote “at this point in the year, I’d prefer to add on to June.” Another option was to take vacation days away from the April break.

Hugo said the survey was not comprehensive as very”few” high school parents took the survey. She said she knew that April vacation was a time when sophomores and juniors visit colleges and that there were Framingham High trips planned. And for those reasons, she was agreeing with Limeri.

‘We are not going to please everyone,” said Hugo before the vote.

After the vote on the 2014-15 school calendar, the Framingham School Committee also unanimously approved a snow day policy for the 2015-16 school calendar.

In regards to 15-16 school year, School Committee members approved Option #1 which has the 6th and 7th snow days as June 23 and June 24, along with additional snow days to be on June 27-30.

The vote was 6-0.

Option #2 was for snow days #6 and #7 on June 23 & 24, but with additional snow days removed from April vacation starting with Tuesday.

Option #3 was for snow days #6 and #7 on June 23 & 24, but with additional snow days removed from April vacation starting with Friday, and working backwards.
