Framingham Schools To Compete For Spot in VEX Robotics World Championships

Two middle schools, and Framingham High, will send robotics teams to the Southern New England Regional Championships this weekend.

Today, robotics teams from Walsh Middle and Cameron Middle schools will compete in the Southern New England Regional Championships.

Today and tomorrow, Framingham High will compete in the regional championship.

Winners in this weekend’s competition will move on to the VEX Robotics World Championships, explained Walsh science & technology teacher and robotics club advisor Pascal Chesnais.

Last month, three teams from Walsh Middle qualified for today’s Southern New England Regional Championships.

“By forming a 3-team alliance that were crowned Tournament finalists,” at the February 7 competition, said Chesnais.

One Walsh team also won a Design Award at last month’s competition, said Chesnais.

“I am very please with the five teams we have competing,” said Chesnais.

This weekend’s competitions will be held at Quinsigamond Community College in Worcester from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The high school teams will compete in the Suprenant Building’s Herbert Auditorium. There are more than 70 high schools competing, said Chesnais.

The middle school teams will compete in Harrington Learning Center on Saturday, with 35 teams registered, said Chesnais.
