Framingham Selectmen To Appoint 2 Conservation Commissioners

The deadline to apply is June 2.

There are two positions available on the Framingham Conservation Commission, which typically meets every other Wednesday evening.

The Framingham Selectmen will make the appointment in June.

The Commission reviews proposed work or alteration falling within 125 feet of resource areas, i.e. fresh water wetland, ponds, rivers, streams, inland banks bordering on river, creek, stream, pond or any lake, also, any proposed work within 100-year Flood Zone, isolated land subject to flooding, and river front area.

The Commission’s review of these activities may result in the issuance of a permit (usually with conditions) or the denial of an activity if the activity cannot meet specific performance standards intended to protect or enhance public or private water supply, ground water, wildlife habitat, fisheries, recreation, and flood control, and/or to prevent erosion and/or sedimentation, storm damage and water pollution.

The Commission also grants approval of board permits needed for any work or alterations on Town conservation land.
