Framingham State Students Awarded Prizes at Fountain Street Studios

This was the fourth time Fountain Street Studios has hosted Framingham State University students.

Three Framingham State students’ art was awarded prizes at this weekend’s Fountain Street Open Studios.

Fountain Street Studios invited the Framingham State University Art Club members to participate in the Open Studios as part of their vision and directive to connect with the local community and share the opportunity of learning about art shows and the art business to exceptional students, who are considering entering the field of fine art or related occupations, such as marketing, public relations and graphic design.

This was the fourth time Fountain Street Studios has hosted Framingham State University students.

A student awards ceremony was held Friday night.

Randi Isaacson, owner of Post Road Art Center, sponsor this event by providing three prizes -- $50, $30 and $25 dollar gift certificates, towards high-quality art supplies at her store in Marlboro,

Every student, who entered, received a gift bag from Post Road Art Center.

Framingham State Professor Brian Bishop, who chairs the University’s art department, and who serves as mentor to the FSU Art Club, awarded the prizes on Friday night.

Winners were:

  • 1st place: Alisa Feldman
  • 2nd place: Kaitlyn (Katie) Durst
  • 3rd place: Meghan St Laurent


Students’ art, which also included 3-D art and ceramics, were hung on second floor East and third floor West.
