Framingham State VP Finalist for Westfield State President Post

Framingham State University Vice President for Academic Affairs Linda Vaden-Goad is one of three finalists to become the next president at Westfield State University.

The other finalists are Damian J. Fernandez, the chief executive officer and head of the Ethical Culture Fieldston School in New York City and Ramon S. Torrecilha, a professor of sociology and former provost and vice president for academic affairs at California State University, Dominguez Hills.

Former president Evan Dobelle retired Nov. 8, 2013, after being placed on paid administrative leave amid an investigation into reports of extravagant spending during domestic and overseas travel and improper use of school credit cards, according to the Daily Hampshire Gazette.

Elizabeth Preston, the university’s vice president of academic affairs, was named interim president later that month.

Each candidate will visit the campus for a two-day visit. Vaden-Goad will visit on Oct. 5 & 6.
