Framingham State Women's Lacrosse Defeat Vikings

Senior Zoe Reilly scored 6 goals in Framingham State University's win over Salem State.

Senior Zoe Reilly scored six goals and added an assist as the Framingham State University women’s lacrosse team defeated Salem State University 10-8 this afternoon in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference action at Alumni Field in Framingham.

With the win, the Rams improve to 2-1 on the year and are 1-0 in the conference, while the Vikings dip to 4-3 overall and are now 0-1 in the MASCAC.

The Vikings grabbed the early 2-0 lead, but Reilly cut the deficit in half at the 18 minute mark when she converted a free position opportunity for her first of the game. The Vikings pushed the lead back to two, but the Rams scored three straight goals to take their first advantage of the game at 4-3 with just over seven showing on the clock. The Vikings closed the half with two goals to take a 5-4 lead into the half.

The Rams tallied two quick ones to start the half from junior Stephanie Leonard, a Framingham High product, and Reilly to retake the lead. The Vikings tied the game at 6-6 with 23 minutes remaining, but the Rams rattled off four straight tallies to take the lead for good.

Junior Alysha Cericola earned the victory in net for the Rams evening her season mark at 1-1 as she made four stops.

The Rams are back in action on Tuesday evening when they travel to Emmanuel for a non-conference tilt beginning at 7 p.m.
