Framingham State's Kirby Named Conference Pitcher of the Year
Five Framingham State baseball players earn All-Conference recognition.

Framingham State senior pitcher Zack Kirby has been named Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletics Conference (MASCAC) Baseball Pitcher of the Year and to the All-Conference first team.
Kirby is also joined on the first team by senior third baseman Billy Derosier in voting conducted by league’s coaches and announced by the MASCAC.
Senior first baseman John Gill, senior shortstop Mark Mainini, & freshman catcher Jordan Pallazola were all given second team all-conference honors.

Kirby led all MASCAC pitchers with 89 strikeouts, third in wins at five and third in ERA at 1.61 ERA. He also went the distance in five games and registered three shutouts on the year.
Derosier led the conference in home runs (10), RBI (36) and on base percentage (.493). He hit .375 scoring 31 runs and a team high 17 stolen bases.

Gill hit .336 with a homer and 20 RBI while only making 2 errors in 329 chances for a .994 fielding percentage.
Mainini led the conference with 45 hits and was second in batting average hitting at a .400 clip. He also hit 3 homers and drove in 23 runs while scoring 32 times.
Pallazola hit .298 with 3 round trippers and 29 runs batted in while throwing out 9-of-29 potential base stealers.

Framingham State earned the #4 seed in the MASCAC Tournament and hosted #5 seed Westfield State today, April 30, at the New England Baseball Complex in Northboro.
