FRAMINGHAM, MA - The League of Women Voters of Framingham is hosting a candidates’ forum on Sunday for the candidates for state representative for the 6th Middlesex District.

Potential voters will get to know the candidates in this uniquely styled debate called "candi-dating," according to LWV Framingham spokesperson Jake Binnall.

"We are using the speed dating format so residents of the 6th Middlesex can ask questions and have them answered right then and there, directly by the candidates themselves," he explained. "Attendees will be seated at tables with a LWV member who is there to help facilitate conversation. The candidates will spend time at each table and will answer any
questions asked."

Should there be more attendees than available seats with a candidate, attendees will be seated at tables staffed by the LWV, where they can ask questions about the elected delegation, voting, upcoming elections, the League, and other issues until they can be rotated in with a candidate.

"Our aim is to offer an event that encourages both personal and in-depth discussion so
that voters can make an informed vote in September," Binnall said.

The hour-long event will kick off at 6 p.m. at Harmony Grove Elementary Library, with doors opening at 5:40 p.m. to allow for introductions.

Based on the discussions and answers provided by the candidates, “candi-dating
profiles” will be posted on social media and shared with local media outlets, Binnall said, to give those at home a chance to learn more about their options.

The League of Women Voters of Framingham is a non-partisan, grassroots organization
that supports and opposes issues, but not candidates or political parties. It strives to
protect, educate and engage voters, and it welcomes new members.
