Framingham's Michael Cannon Vying For Man Of The Year Title

He is one of 10 competing to earn The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Man and Woman of the Year titles to be announced on May 21.

Framingham resident Michael Cannon has been nominated as a candidate for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Man & Woman of the Year campaign.

Cannon and 9 others in Massachusetts are competing to see who can raise the most money for the organization within a 10-week time period. The deadline is in 2 weeks and 2 days.

Money raised during the campaign will advance The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s mission to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

The event, in its 13th year in Massachusetts, hopes to raise $600,000 in Massachusetts and more than $30 million nationally. Last year, $30.5 million was raised nationally by 900 candidates.

“We are looking forward to another successful campaign and are thrilled that Michael is part of it,” says Sharon Klein,
Executive Director of the Massachusetts Chapter. “We know that these candidates, like those before them, will give
tirelessly of themselves to further our cause.“

More than 400 people are expected to attend the Grand Finale Celebration at the Sheraton Boston Hotel on May 21.
The night begins with a silent auction and reception, followed by the event program and dinner.

The 2015 Man & Woman of the Year campaign is generously supported by Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Takeda
