Framingham's O'Connor To Box Former World Champion Malignaggi

Framingham boxer Danny O’Connor will step into the ring with former world champion Paulie Malignaggi next month in Brooklyn, N.Y.
O’Connor registered his 25th victory and 9th knockout earlier this month, when he knocked out Michael Clark of Columbus Ohio in about a minute, in what was supposed to be a 10-round welterweight fight.

O’Connor is 25-2, while Malignaggi is 33-6.
This will be Malignaggi’s first fight since he lost to Shawn Porter, last year in four rounds.

Malignaggi, who hails from New York, first captured the WBA welterweight title in April 2012.
This will be the opening fight on the boxing card headlined by Amir Khan vs. Chris Algieri.
The fight at the Barclays Center will be televised on Spike TV.
