Fuller and Walsh Nominated For Best Musical

The Massachusetts Educational Theater Guild nominated five middle schools for best musical and two of the productions hail from Framingham.

“Fuller and Walsh are nominated for best musical for Shrek and Once on This Island! There are only five schools nominated for best musical in the state and we are two of them!,” said Donna Wresinski, the school district’s K-12 arts department head.

Walsh Middle School staged three shows of Shrek in December 2014.

Fuller Middle School staged two shows of Once on This Island in January.

“Our three middle schools received over 24 nominations,” said Wresinski. “I could not be more proud especially since this is our first year with curricular drama in Fuller and Cameron.”

Awards will be presented on June 15 in Cutler Majestic Theatre in Boston

“Walsh’s production of Shrek was nominated in 13 out of 18 categories for the MET Awards tonight,” said Sheron Doucette. “Five of our cast members were nominated, as well as acting and choral ensembles with the rest being technical awards proving that it takes a team not one person to put on a show - one, big, ogre-sized team. I am so proud and blessed to work with these gifted individuals and amazing young performers.”
