Fuller Middle Receives $140,000 After-School Grant

The Framingham middle school was one of 15 in the state to receive a grant from 21st Century Community Learning Center.

The Framingham legislative delegation announced Fuller Middle School was one of 15 schools throughout the Commonwealth awarded a grant from the 21st Century Community Learning Center to expand learning time and offer enrichment programs after school and during the summer.

Fuller Middle School was awarded $140,000.

“Grants like these create in-school and out-of-school opportunities for academic enrichment,” said Rep. Chris Walsh (D-Framingham.) “In schools such as Fuller Middle School enrichment opportunities are vital to support students’ learning, and social/emotional and physical development.”

“This grant is terrific news for Framingham children,” said Sen. Karen Spilka (D-Ashland). “Out of school programs are a key tool for long-term academic success. We need to continue to find ways to engage all students in our community and provide opportunities for everyone to learn and grow.”

“The best investment we can make is in our young people,” said Rep. Tom Sannicandro (D-Ashland). “This grant will help develop skills and learning for the next generation. School children today are going to be the scientists, engineers, and innovators for the next 30 years. It all starts in the classroom.”

“The children at the Fuller Middle School now have the chance to build on their current foundation of learning,” said Rep. Carmine Gentile (D-Sudbury) “These out of school programs bring a additional level of education that our children need just as much as classroom time.”
