Funeral Thursday For Harold Heffron, 84

The U.S. Navy Veteran worked for the Town of Framingham and Anchor Motor Freight Co.

Harold M. Heffron, 84, of Framingham, died Saturday August 1, 2015, at the MetroWest Medical Center, Framingham surrounded by his family.

He was the husband of 56 years to Mary (Introini) Heffron of Framingham.

Born in Sherborn, he was the son of the late Harold and Matilda (Buote) Heffron.

He graduated from Dowse Academy in Sherborn in 1948.

He then served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Goodrich and was a member of the Tin Can Sailors.

Prior to retirement, he worked for Anchor Motor Freight Co. and the Town of Framingham.

He was an active parishioner of St. Tarcisius Church and member of the Golden Rays at the church.

He was also a very active member of the Northboro American Legion and Battleship Cove.

He was a woodworker craftsman, enjoyed gardening and loved animals.

Above all, Heffron was a loving family man, who adored his grandchildren. Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Laura and her husband John Slason of Framingham, Kelli and her husband Roy Zanchi of Spencer and Carla and her husband, Michael Pleshaw of Franklin. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Nicole, Ryan and Victoria Slason, Michael and Danielle Zanchi, Matthew and Mackenzie Pleshaw; his brother, Francis Heffron and his wife Dorra of Sherborn and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at 9 a.m. from the Norton Funeral Home, 53 Beech St. (corner of Union Ave), Framingham followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Tarcisius Church, 562 Waverley Street, Framingham.

Burial will follow at St. Tarcisius Cemetery, Framingham.

Visiting hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday, August 5 from 4-8 p.m.
