Hawks Outlast Rams For 1-0 Victory

The Framingham State University women's soccer team is now 5-3-1 on the season.

The Roger Williams University women’s soccer team edged out Framingham State 1-0 in non-conference action Thursday evening in Framingham.

With the win the Hawks improve to 7-0-3 and the Rams slip to 5-3-1.

The Hawks scored the lone goal of the contest in the 35th minute when junior Jenna Hart gathered a corner kick from classmate Kristen Casey and redirected it into the back of the net for what would prove to be the game winner.

The Rams best chance to score came late in the 1st half when junior Ashley Lees won a 50/50 ball in the box but her shot when went wide of the frame.

Sophomore Natalie O’Donovan made 5 saves in the shutout victory for the Hawks

Senior Sara Sullivan made 11 saves in net for the Rams.

The Hawks outshot the Rams 24 to 10 and were called for 7 fouls to the Rams 6.

The Rams will host Bridgewater State in MASCAC action on the Oct 3 at 11 a.m.
