The slam is a competition between teams of poets who perform their own original work, bringing poetry off the page and onto the stage in a gloves-off, no-holds-barred verbal boxing match with judges chosen randomly from the audience, explained organizer and Framingham High teacher Alison Courchesne.
First place was awarded to the team known as 4 Varsity Athletes and a Nerd. Team members: Tristan Perez, Maddie Biron, Beaux Daley, Chris Stournaras and Gus Lipkin
