IMAGE GALLERY: Cameron Middle Salutes Veterans

Cameron Middle School marked Veterans Day, with an all-school assembly on Tuesday.

Principal Michelle Melick welcomed everyone, and student Harmony Carmona-Silk led the audience in the Pledge of Allegiance. Afterwards, the grade 8 select band/chorus performed the National Anthem.

Victoria de Souza gave a short history on Veterans Day, followed by short speeches by Veterans Brenda Crehan, Stephen Manning, Philip M. Peck, and Jeff Oberg.

Students Kayleigh O’Connor, Vanessa Cerasulo, Alex Cahn, Barbara Pires, Juliana Araujo, and Sereen Jarrar read poems about Veterans and service.

There was a flag folding demonstration by students Trinity Garcia, Maria Panta, Alexandra Torrales, Vanessa Meija, Cian Beatty, Gabrielle Tavares, and Sarah Walkup.

The band performed Taps.

To conclude the assembly, the chorus and band, under the musical direction of Christine Dupuis, led the crowd in a sing-a-long that included America the Beautiful.
