The team of Willow Stoner, Molly Jones, and Libby Morningstar won the 2nd Annual Middle School Spelling Bee, sponsored by the Framingham Homework Center, before a standing room only crowd at the main Framingham Library. They called themselves The Asymptotes.

Framingham High English Department Chair Will Cook was the judge for the event.
The three finalists were the teams of Asymptotes from the Charter school, The Utopic Unicorns from Walsh Middle School, and The Angels from Fuller Middle School.
Each team won their round against teams from their own schools.
The Utopic Unicorns consisted of Caroline Laird, Katherine Zully, and Madelyn Rose.
The Angels were Phoebe Nelson, Sophia Stick and Kaitlyn Scraffa.
The students were asked to spell words from the Scripp’s National Spelling word list, said Homework Center Coordinator Judy Gatlin.
The Homework Center provides free tutoring and homework help for all Framingham students in grades K-12. The Center is open Monday through Thursday from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m.
A group of middle and high school teens serve on an advisory board helping Gatlin with the Homework Center. They help organize and run Friday night’s spelling bee.
