"This trend of not only being involved but leading has taught Mike what it will take to be a city councilor and to help Framingham thrive."

Friends and neighbors in Framingham's District 6 (precincts 10 and 11). For those of you who voted for me in the preliminary election for city council, I would like to thank you. It was an honor to run for you earlier this fall. For those of you who voted for another candidate, thank you for voting. Finally, for those of you who missed voting in the preliminary election, I want to see you out there voting and making your voice heard on Nov. 7 at Keefe Tech.

While I did not make it past the preliminary election, I did get to know the other candidates, which is why I am writing today. After careful thought and consideration, I am endorsing Mike Rossi for District 6 in this historic election and will be proud to vote for him. As we evolve into a city, there will be a number of bumps and hiccups to overcome. Mike has the experience and ability to calmly, rationally, and independently understand the issues and develop positive outcomes for Framingham and for District 6 at the same time.

If you did not know, Mike’s experience in Framingham dates back to at least 1986, when he started his involvement in Framingham government as a town meeting member. Along the way, Mike also served and chaired the finance committee and then continued his leadership growth by serving as a selectman from 1993-1996 and also chairing the board of selectman in 1996. In more recent years, Mike has been actively involved as a school committee member since 2007, at the vitally important Keefe Regional Technical School and also chaired the committee for two years. This trend of not only being involved, but leading, has taught Mike what it will take to be a city councilor and to help Framingham thrive.

I hope that you see this critical and historic election the same way I do and join me in voting for Mike Rossi to be the first city councilor of District 6 on November 7th. His experience, knowledge, and leadership ability are indispensable at this critical juncture in Framingham’s history.

Scott Ellinwood
Former City Council Candidate for District 6
