LETTER: 'Legislature Must Give Governor The Tools Required To Fix Important Issues'

Jon Fetherston: "Many have placed fundraising and re-election ahead of representing the hard working people of Massachusetts."

The days are now beautiful with summer in full bloom ... apparently the ideal temperature to declare war on the working class.

Has the majority of the legislature, especially the Senate, forgotten how bad things were for the MBTA just a few short months ago or is it that the Unions have threatened to stop supporting them with campaign donations?

It seems many have placed fundraising and re-election ahead of representing the hard working people of Massachusetts. Some will say that the author of this is an ally of Governor Baker and they would be correct.

Governor Baker understands we have a problem.

Hard working people depend on public transportation.

The legislature must give the Governor the tools required to fix important issues.

The Governor has displayed that he will go above and beyond to work in a bipartisan effort to turn the state around.

How much longer is the public going to continue to support an elected legislature that allows a former Governor to allegedly waste 27 million dollars on “travel trade missions?”

The Department of Children and Families is still in need of reform.

Many continue to be victimized by the Ma. Health Connector - a challenge to receive a return phone call. The waste and corruption has impacted your children’s education, everyone’s public safety and even the simple task of getting to work on time.

It’s time for the majority of the legislature to put the needs of your constituents first.

Senate President Rosenberg and the Boston Carman Union are powerful and influential, but the power of a disappointed and late for dinner working class is more powerful.

We are watching and are supporting the Governor on fixing the MBTA.
