People are using Salem End Road as a shortcut to bypass Route 9. The most hazardous area is the crazy intersection at Badger Road; with the shortcut through it to Parker Road on Salem End Road.
We have been told that the "scenic beauty" of Salem End Road would be lost by putting in traffic lights. Would it take a major multicar crash, with fatalities - to stop this insanity?

Maybe, now that we've become a city, Mayor Spicer may use her common sense and good judgment; and demand that suitable traffic signals are installed in the near future.
Many people are using Salem End Road as a bypass to Route 9, because the traffic lights on Route 9 are not synchronized - to facilitate a smooth flow of traffic.

In my earlier life, I lived in the West Bronx (I'm one of the few Salem End Roaders who'll admit to that!). When they synchronized the traffic lights on a major north-south drag (The Grand Concourse), it was possible to go several miles, at a constant speed of 28 miles per hour, without having to stop for a traffic light. Why can't they do that on Route 9?
