UPDATED: MetroWest Jewish Day School Is Moving

MetroWest Jewish Day School is moving.

Effective July 1, the school will move to Temple Beth Sholom at 50 Pamela Road in Framingham.

Students will start the 2015-16 school year at the new location.

MetroWest Jewish Day School (MWJDS) signed a multi-year renewable lease to operate its growing pluralistic K-8 program at Temple Beth Sholom.

The new Nobscot Village location offers MWJDS many advantages and opportunities, said a press release.

The private wooded campus and flexible indoor space compliment the school’s strong academic program.

The close proximity to the JCHE Shillman House and the new McAullife Branch of the Framingham Public Library enables MWJDS to bolster joint intergenerational programming and to enrich the research resources available to its students.

The Temple Beth Sholom community has been supportive of the MetroWest Jewish Day School mission, since the school’s inception.

MetroWest Jewish Day School Head of School, Rav-Hazzan Scott Sokol, serves as the part-time cantor of the Temple, and MWJDS Founders Renee and Steven Finn are long-standing members of Temple Beth Sholom.

MetroWest Jewish Day School’s move to the Temple Beth Sholom campus enables both institutions to strengthen and build the Jewish community of MetroWest Boston.

This is the second move, and third locations for the school.

At one point it was leasing space at the former Juniper Hill Elementary School from the Framingham Public Schools, but had to move out when the public school district wanted the space back for its BLOCKS preschool program.

The school is currently located on Pleasant Street at Temple Beth Am.
