Superintendent Stacy Scott says the department needs additional staff through the "heavy registration season."

Cameron Middle School’s assistant principal has been temporarily assigned to the Framingham Public Schools’ Parent Information Center (PIC).
Assistant Principal Ian Charles will be at the Parent Information Center/King Building effective April 6.
Superintendent of Schools Stacy Scott said the move was needed as the “PIC requires additional staff and we have not been able to allocate more staff there.”

For more than 2 decades, Anna Cross oversaw the Parent Information Center, as Director of Family Support, until her retirement in June 2014.
In July, Scott hired Magaly Sanchez, who lives in Rhode Island, as the new Director of Family and Community Engagement for Framingham Public Schools. She, previously, served as assistant principal at the Kane Elementary School in Marlborough, and was an assistant principal at the Viveiros Elementary School and vice principal at the Doran Elementary School in Fall River.
As the Director of Family and Community Engagement, Sanchez is in charge of the PIC, the Early Childhood Alliance, the Parent and Home Child Care Program, and the attendance officer for all students from K through age 16.
While Charles is at the King Building/Parent Information Center, Cameron grade 7 science teacher Ken Hamm will be the interim Assistant Principal said Cameron Principal Michelle Melick, in an email to parents Thursday evening.
A long-term substitute teacher will take over Hamm’s science classes, explained Melick.
Charles was hired in July 2014, to replace Patrick Johnson, who became Principal at Walsh Middle School.
The Framingham Parent Information Center, presently still housed at the King Building, is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The website lists the Center with a director and four additional staffers.
Scott told the Framingham School Committee he would like to move the Parent Information Center to Fuller Middle School by July 1. Administration, including Scott, moved from the King Building to the Perini Building last month.
