Motorcycle Crash Kills Hopkinton Man

A 24-year-old Hopkinton man, who was well-known at Bancroft Boxing in Framingham, died after injuries in a crash in Holliston this weekend.

A Hopkinton man has died after injuries from a motorcycle crash that happened on Saturday night in Holliston.

Michael Anderson, 24, of Hopkinton, died after suffering burns and other injuries in the cash, said Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan.

“Responding officers saw indications that the motorcycle left the road, struck a tree, and then burst into flames,” said District Attorney Ryan in a release. “Police who responded to the incident saw wreckage which was on fire and found the driver seriously hurt suffering from burns and other injuries.”

Anderson was well-known at Bancroft Boxing in Framingham.

Holliston Police Chief John Moore added, “We would like to thank the towns of Hopkinton, Sherborn, and Ashland which assisted both at the scene and with patrol coverage while our shift handled the investigation into the crash. At this time we will not speculate as to the circumstances and factors that figured into the crash, and we will await the detailed investigative report that will be forthcoming from the Massachusetts State Police Crash Reconstruction Team.”

Holliston police responded to a call on Saturday, April 25, around 9:50 p.m. from a passerby who reported the crash at 96 North Mill St. First responders found Anderson seriously injured and he was transported to Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, where he was later pronounced dead.

This incident is being investigated by the Holliston Police Department and Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office.
