Besardi said he saw the woman shivering along the race course and realized she didn’t have enough layers on to keep her warm.

Cronin said Officer Besardi stated he had a number of layers on himself, including a very old now decommissioned jacket beneath his rain gear, so he took it off and helped her dawn it and she continued on.

“This is seriously amazing. I hope he knows what a difference he made to me yesterday,” Mookherjee told Framingham Patch.

“Besardi lives a fair distance away from Framingham now, is a pretty low-key guy, that doesn’t seek the lime-light and declined any further media attention simply saying she was someone that needed help and that’s why he did it,” said Lt. Cronin.

“Thank you for helping me figure out who he is,” Mookherjee told Framingham Patch.”I’ll be thinking of him when I finish one year.”
